A Fist to the Face

So yesterday I triumphantly posted a picture of me wearing Steph's quirkyblogger.com t-shirt. Later that night, I tried to log in. I was denied. I tried again. And again. Finally, after many panicky minutes of trying to get to my blog, sweat beading on my upper lip while I tried to figure out if perhaps I had another personality that I was unaware of, who posted porn on my blog, I found out that my husband told our anti-virus software to go ahead and "take care of" any viruses it found. My blog went with it. Everything. My unphotogenic posts, "Prepare for Pain", everything. I feel, maybe not as if a child had died, but certainly a beloved pet. This sucks GIANT...I don't even have the energy to finish my sentence. I will try to recover what I can. I had to pick a new address and everything.

DAMN YOU, NORTON ANTI-VIRUS!!!

  2. I know, I know, I know. I keep telling people I'm a computer idiot, but... NOW I HAVE PROVEN IT. Apparently it had something to do with me not ever signing out of blogger. Some asshole virus got in. Whatever. Whatever.

  3. Wow...I feel SO bad for you. When I went to your blog today, I just about croaked when I had seen it was gone. I am really glad that you didn't leave blog land...however, I am sad that all your old posts are gone.

  6. DOOOOD, i totally panicked and did what any good blogger would do and immediately emailed Steph! HAHAHAH!

so glad you're back and that you picked a blog name that many of us already referred to you as.

i'm disappointed about the unphotogenic posts as they were my favorites, but now you have an opportunity to start fresh! (sorry, trying to be positive since i'm such a depressed a-hole lately.)

  7. I am sooo glad I found you!! I've been reading you for quite a while (a non-commenting lurker) thanks to the publicity that List Of The Day gave you. :-) So, last week, your blog disappeared, and every day I'd check to see if you came back. I actually did a google search of "hairwrecker lindsey" hoping I'd somehow get a lead, and lo and behold, another blogger had this new URL on their list of blogs they read. Thank God! So, anyway, I may as well take this opportunity to say that I love your blog, and I'll keep lurking! Glad you're back!

  8. Hence the answer to my previous question about the quirkyblogger.com t-shirt (see other entry response). And I wouldn't blame you about this, I'd blame the Bear for accepting the virus response before you properly checked to see what was to be deleted (usually there's a list of what's going to be deleted before it really is, or maybe that's just the way we have it set up...I speak from experience).

Glad to see you're back online hon! Do you have any copies of your blog posts that you saved through emails? You can set it up where if you enter a blog, it'll send it to your email and you can save it in a folder there in case this happens again.

  9. Thank God! I thought I had lost you! It sucks you lost all of your old posts... but I'm so happy to have found you again, you're one of my favorites! I was about to email MoFM to find out where the hell you went. At least you know if something happened to you, you'd have a blogosphere search party...
